This evergreen perennial blooms in very early spring/late winter. It is a very long lived plant as perennials go versus the ones that only last a few years. On this cold snowy day close to the end of March, Helleborus Orientalis is resisting the cold and pushing its way through the soil and snow. It is such a great sign of spring happening any day now, especially since it is so late this year. The same plant was in full bloom on March 13 of last year.
